My first trip to Korea was all about me. I went with my American mom and we discovered so much about the country together. But my true goal was to find my birth mother. It is a strange story. After graduating college, your school email automatically gets shut down and that is the only email I gave to the adoption agency. I never heard anything from them and to be honest, I was really in the moment venturing around the streets of Myeong-dong with my mom. After two weeks, my mom was headed home and literally the moment she arrived home, I received an email from my adoption agency which had forwarded an email they had sent me about a week prior. The email is below:

Welcome

Home

Dear Sarah,

I hope you and your mom have been enjoying in Korea.   It was pleasure to meet you last week.
As I mentioned before, one of my co-workers at Seongnam branch office visited the address we've got from the police.
Yesterday we made a contact with your birth mother, Mrs. Lee.  She lives the address what we've found.  She was very shocked and embarrassed because it was unexpected visit.  But soon after she admitted that she is the right person who we are looking for and is eager to meet you.
She lives in Seongnam and said that it is hard to visit at Eastern office in Seoul.  But she is okay to visit Seongnam branch office.  I hope you are okay to visit there.  It will take 1.5~2hours to south from Eastern in Seoul.
She said that she will let me know tomorrow what date she is available to meet us.  How about you?  When will be the best day to meet her for you?

I hope this makes you happy and relived.  Keep in touch!
